Melissa Seeton developed a love of writing at a young age. It wasn’t until later that she fostered an appreciation for editing and the satisfaction that comes with bettering the written word of another.
    For the past 10 years, Melissa has worked as a journalist at various newspapers throughout Ohio. She graduated from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University and is near completion of her Master’s degree in reporting and editing from Kent State University.
    During her time as a reporter, the Ohio Associated Press honored Melissa with numerous awards, including best news writer, best investigative reporter and best enterprise reporting. Melissa also was awarded first place in investigative reporting by the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists, and she received an honorable mention for the Casey Medal by the Casey Journalism Center on Children and Families in College Park, Maryland.
    Melissa was selected to study at the Hechinger Institute on Education and the Media in New York City. She also studied writing and editing at the Danish School of Journalism in Aarhus, Denmark and Hogeschool van Utrecht in The Netherlands.
    Melissa is a published poet.
    A wife and mother, she is working on her first series of children's books.
